“What are you looking at?” Georgie snapped.

“Nothing,” Aleta said innocently. “That really looks great on you, Stan. I know it took Georgie a long time to find just the right shirt. It’s a good thing you are as tacky as she is.”

“The guys in the bullpen are going to love this.” He held it out admiring the pin-up beauties as they smiled back at him.

“All right. I want to hear all about it,” Stan said, after smoothing out his shirt and starting the engine.

“Where do we start?” Georgie looked at her sister.

“Well, the vacation really didn’t start until Herb fell off the cliff,” Aleta said matter-of-factly.

  “What?” Stan gasped. “You’re joking.”

“I think we need to describe how Herb acted with his wife, otherwise the story doesn’t make sense,” Georgie said. “It also serves as a sort of warning, you know, to husbands and ex-husbands, too.”

“Good point.” Aleta nodded. “You start.”

“It all started, Stan, with this guy named Herb who wanted a piece of gum.” Georgie said, as they headed out of the airport toward home.

  About the Book Cover

I am so grateful to my readers every day for reading my books, making it possible to keep writing. As a gesture of appreciation (and because it is really, really fun) – I feature a reader’s pet on the cover of each book in this series!

For each book, I host a contest where you can enter your fur baby to be the next cover model. I love seeing all your fur babies and reading their stories. The prizes of winning the contest are digital images of any artwork done of the winning pet, a free paperback copy of the book, and the opportunity to write the dedication to the book.

This month’s cover model is Bailey – an adorable chinchilla!

Here’s what his mom, Cheryl had to say about him.

I will give a bit more detail about Bailey, he was a Mother's Day gift from my 2 daughters after I separated from their dad. It was very hard and I was sad for a long time but Bailey helped out a lot, you could say he saved my life quite a few times over the years. He scolds me, kisses me and cuddles me and he’s still playful.

Bailey truly is a wonderful little companion full of love and attitude:) He has been with me since he was a 4-month-old-kit and has helped me through some very hard times. Bailey has the most beautiful thick and soft fur coat that he loves to groom and tool around in his special dust bath, it the cutest thing to watch.

Although he is not like a cat or dog, he has a big personality that shines through and he shows his happiness by snuggling up and lying down or washing himself to prove he trusts you completely. His kisses are little nibbles along your skin, sometimes when he’s really lovey it’s a little love nip
